Overview

Our client in the financial services sector is seeking an Internal/Key Accounts Broker to manage and grow a portfolio of clients. The role involves providing high-quality service, handling insurance policies, and ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management

  • Oversee a portfolio of approximately 300 clients, ensuring excellent service and strong relationships.

  • Maintain regular communication to understand clients’ insurance needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Premium and Payment Oversight

  • Track outstanding premiums and ensure timely follow-ups for payments.

  • Work with clients and insurers to resolve any payment issues efficiently.

Policy Renewals and Retention

  • Manage policy renewal processes to ensure all policies are updated and renewed on time.

  • Present renewal terms and alternatives, including risk assessments and portfolio reviews.

  • Implement strategies to retain clients and minimize policy lapses.

Policy Endorsements and Adjustments

  • Process policy changes accurately, including updates to coverage, asset details, or client information.

  • Maintain proper records and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines.

Underwriting and Quoting

  • Perform general underwriting tasks, including risk evaluations and rating assessments.

  • Provide competitive quotes for new opportunities and, where needed, source multiple quotes (re-broking) to ensure optimal coverage and pricing.

Client Engagement

  • Conduct at least 25 client consultations per day via Zoom or telephone to discuss policy updates, renewals, and coverage adjustments.

  • Offer professional advice on policy options, excess structures, and risk management.

Additional Duties

  • Handle policy cancellations, including exit interviews and retention efforts.

  • Coordinate installations of tracking devices for vehicle insurance policies.

  • Arrange valuations to ensure adequate insurance coverage.

  • Process refunds promptly in line with company and insurer guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) certificate.

  • RE5 certification (mandatory).

  • NQF Level 4 qualification in financial services (preferred).

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in underwriting, covering both personal and commercial lines.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills.

Compensation

  • Up to R22,000 per month
